More studies arrive at a similar sobering result. The memberships were examined by managers and employees in medium-sized companies in German-speaking countries. Therefore, just 15% of employees lead a XING profile. There were only 7% in LinkedIn. If you break up the users, the IT Department deviates here with 24% and 21% respectively upwards. The sparse Member ratio in the engineering sector is remarkable: just 5% of the engineering forces found themselves in XING and only 1% in LinkedIn. In the management level 30% of XING and 20% of LinkedIn found themselves after all. A huge percentage of potential Manager candidates would remain thus not to leave itself only on the speech in social media.

Worse is that not all people are active users or keep your profile accordingly. Others use it as touch or for the exchange of experience and to tolerate contact with regard to professional challenges. Job seekers in turn use the networks only temporarily or keep meaningful profiles for simply superfluous. And last but not least there is the Group of people that is not because an entry by the corporate policy is denied. Thus, the above numbers should be corrected further down.
